SO WHY DIDN’T YOU KEEP IT?

For the better part of a decade, I owned a 1970 Mercury Montego. It was a project vehicle built for another magazine, at another time. In the end, it didn’t achieve the performance goals I set out for it, but it was a reliable daily-driverâ€"no mean feat considering the amount of aftermarket stuff we caked onto it.
